Summary Draft 2 - Healthcare Drones

In an article titled "Drones May Become ‘The Next Big Thing’ In Healthcare Delivery" written by Balasubramanian (2021), discusses the use and benefits of drones in healthcare. The purpose of drones was first envisioned for use in the aerial and military industry. However, with developing innovations, drones have been integrated into the healthcare industry. It is implied by Balasubramanian (2021) that the compact design and efficient maneuverability of the drone provides an opportunity to expand care to hard-to-reach patients, potentially resolving significant access to care issues. T he use of drones enables faster delivery of emergency medical supplies such as automated external defibrillators in critical situations to patients experiencing out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (2021).    It is also discussed by Balasubramanian (2021) that with widespread use of drones in multiple industries, large corporations such as Amazon and Google have invested in to its  research and devel

With the widespread use of drones in multiple industries, large corporations such as Amazon and Google have invested in the research and development of drones. This will allow more applications of drone technolo

Descriptive Reflection: Self-intro Letter

Dear Prof Brad,   I am writing this introduct ory letter about myself to give you a description of my background in detail. My name is Rudy Ehsan bin Alis Haizan and I am currently a first-year student in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) , enrolled in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering (MDME) degree program. I graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2019 with a diploma in mechanical engineering. I decided to pursue my engineering studies purely because I did not know what my passion was. Honestly, I am currently still searching for what I want to do in the future . I am hoping that I will figure it out during this period of study of my degree program. In terms of my communicative abilities, I feel able to communicate confidently . I have had experience in secondary school years conducting daily morning assembly announcements and emceeing in multiple school events . Although able to speak in front of large groups of people, I have difficulty speaking f

The importance of communication skills for engineers

Quote: “While all engineers should have good communication skills, global engineers face additional challenges, making effective communication an imperative.” Debra Kraft, Careers Content Writer, Demand Media (2016) Engineers’ work is often complex and technical. Only fellow engineers or people working in similar fields can comprehend and understand the tasks done by them. However, it is not always that engineers work with people in their field or similar fields. It may also be required that they explain their tasks to people who have little to, or no, background in the engineering field. Therefore, in order to explain the intricacies of their work effectively, it is required for engineers to have good communication skills. In this case, we are also analysing the types of additional challenges faced by global engineers. Working globally, engineers are exposed to all types of people from all walks of life. With this comes certain barriers which have to be overcome, such as language an
